The "METU Campus 2nd Phase (Avenues and Sections) Environmental Lighting Project," which aims to enhance campus safety, comfort, and aesthetics while ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly infrastructure through smart control technologies, was initiated on October 24, 2025. This comprehensive work, scheduled for completion in May 2026, will involve the renewal of all existing lighting infrastructure around the main roads, parking lots, and building perimeters with energy-efficient LED systems.
